Power Inverters, Pure Sine Wave 3kW to 15kW
Power inverters convert DC (direct current) electrical energy to AC (alternating current) electrical energy. Direct current comes from battery storage or solar systems (as examples) and alternating current is used in residential and commercial electrical systems. The public grid is alternating current. Output from a power inverter is generally either modified sine wave or pure sine wave. Modified sine wave inverters are less expensive to manufacture (and sell for less), but may not work with network electronics, av equipment, computers, microwaves, motors or other common equipment. It also may negatively effect the efficiency of equipment that it will actually power. Treeline Power Systems sells only pure sine wave inverters.
