Battery System Cabinets Enclosures and Racks

Battery cabinets allow you to organize and enclose your battery storage system.  Using a battery cabinet is more cost efficient for large battery installations than buying separately boxed batteries, and it reduces exposed cabling. Your cats and children will thank you.

If you don't need an enclosed cabinet (maybe you have a utility closet to keep the cats and kids away), we suggest wire racking from Trinity Industries.  It's relatively inexpensive, will hold up 1,000 lbs a shelf and the 24" x 48" shelf size will fit three 14kW 48V batteries per shelf (or six 24V 7kW).  We would sell it, but they do a better job - and shipping is free.  Here is the 48 x 24 x 72 rack. Do NOT use the wheels, they will break and you will have hundreds of pounds of expensive batteries dumped on the floor. When we use one of these , we put a 3/8" MDF shelf on top of the wire shelf. It allows you to bolt bus bars, etc. to the shelf. The uprights are two 36" poles that screw together to make 72".  You can build it at 36", which should give you plenty of capacity.
